MPs to probe Bernard Matthews pre-pack deal

The recent takeover of Bernard Matthews will be scrutinised by the Work and Pensions select committee this week after concerns that the deal was “carefully crafted to dump the pension scheme”. Economic growth appears to be holding up for now, but businesses are not confident enough to make big decisions on hiring and investment, according to a series of surveys published today.
